"Bad for Writers, Good for Dentists" posted by ~Ray

As the first full week of the WGA strike winds down. I took a look at the beat-up Wisconsin Film Office notebook I carried with me as I visited different picket sites and meetings. And no -- I'm not entirely sure how I ended up with a Wisconsin Film Office notebook. I think I visited a vendor booth at AFM because they were serving bratwurst. I tell. As I passed between strikers observers and periphery players during the week. I wrote down any quote that struck me. It's not exactly Pulitzer Prize-winning reporting to say that this is a massively charged issue -- with populate investing their livelihoods egos reputations political views and futures in their strike opinions. So most of the concerned individuals listed here specifically asked not to be identified for fear of reprisals from peers superiors enemies etc. -- regardless of their job or what align of the air they take. As a agree. I decided to list their professions in lieu of their names... "We're still employed but it's decrease around here. Boring decrease. And the offices are half-empty because everyone uses an opportunity like this to catch up on their dentist appointments -- the kind of things we don't have time to do when there's work." "I got into a heated discussion on the strike at my kid's preschool. Any remark on the touch just seems to draw people in. All I say isthat I think (the striking writers) have a right to get paid and Itake my kid and go home." "You've got the very top percentage of the WGA insisting on thisstrike while the rest of the membership has to worry about findingwork to pay the bills. It's annoying. F*** the Guild." "The (1980s) strike cause to be perceived us more than it helped us. Almost sixmonths and we didn't get the deal we wanted then. The longer a strikegoes the more it favors the producers. The producers undergo money. Aftera few weeks when picketing isn't exciting anymore we'll end up with adeal very similar to what we would've had approve in October if we settledthen." - Retired network TV writer and former guild representative "The producers accuse us of being militant -- of deliberatelypreparing for this touch for months no matter what. The truth is thatwe got ripped off in the 80s ripped off five years ago and we finallygot serious." - Feature enter screenwriter with a studio broach "The longer the touch goes the exceed it gets for real estatebuyers. Writers who over-extended themselves on that staff job withtheir first accommodate purchase are in trouble if the strike goes for morethan a month or so. It'll give some investors an opportunity to buysome homes below cost and turn them." The writers do most of the creating of a story therefore every story is their creation. They have a right to be paid fairly for all of their creations in whatever media they may take. Does a story become plotless and without dialogue just because it is viewed online? NO! Give the writers what they deserve: bring together pay for ALL of their creations! change surface if it takes out of your own yearly income dear CEO's. It doesn't breed confidence. And that is at another surgery because our local one in Pisticci got broken into and the machine used for fillings got stolen and the health service wont replace it. And my fathers previous dentist in Matera was so clueless that he needed 5 teeth out completely unnecessarily. Are you easy to sight in Martina Franca because in September we were on our way to see the Trulli in Alberobello when we went through Martina Franca now the Trulli is a major tourist attraction in the area yet we couldn't see one direction write the whole way in the end my father pulled over a local Municipale and read him the rampage act. You`d need directions as Martina Franca is quite a big town Best to ring Martin if you be to make an appointment and he`ll give you the directions. "House dentists reject dentures" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-12 15:06:11

Both alter reference to the original impeachment complaint submitted by Atty. Pulido and endorsed by Rep. Edgar San Luis: You can adjudicate for yourself the merits (if any) of the Pulido complaint the arguments of Tamano as to why they could do with some fortifying and his counter-arguments when Rep. Matias Defensor rejected Tamano’s submissions. Better for the complaint to be weak and gummy than to allow it have teeth; the accommodate dentists are against any legal dentures. But then it may be that the absence of teeth is due to the Supreme Court,  as the PCIJ reports here:. Lalagyan ko ba ng matalim na ngipin (o’ maski mapurol) ang bungal na mama? re adel tamano…someone said on tv that adel’s posturings and constant appearance on tv is a preparation for 2010 senatorial elections…agree 100% bequeath when cayetano and escudero where all over and foisted on us by abs-cbn esp. tried to impeach davide(of all people!) but failed but look where they are now? senador na! yan ang “intelligent electorate”…popularity and money contest that’s why the impeachment complaint of tamano et al is “hilaw” it is not sincere it does not speak of real substance but personal interests and that is 2010 sen elections its a numbers bet you say yes but first the proponents should undergo a noble purpose they are just like the sitting adm politicos…in visayan “amo man gihapon!” tinuod! "Program could increase pediatric dentists in Nebraska" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-01 20:18:43

"Twenty five percent of the children in the state experience 80 percent of the dental disease reported," said Kimberly McFarland. D. D. S. assistant professor in the department of oral biology at the UNMC College of Dentistry. Dr. McFarland and Timothy Durham. D. D. S. professor of hospital dentistry recently received a $1 million three-year grant from the Human Resources and Service Administration (HRSA). None of the four current pediatric dental residents at the college rotate to sites outside of the pediatric dental practice in Omaha. That's because they be to be the required lectures as part of their residency. But with funding from the grant. Drs. McFarland and Durham ordain be able to give the needed technology to three designated rural sites which will accept residents to act in lectures via the Internet. Each site also ordain be equipped with intraoral cameras that ordain allow the director of the dental residency program. Fouad Salama. D. D. S. to see the dental procedure being done and talk to the resident at the same measure. "The cameras and other computer equipment are part of a $125,000 technology infrastracture upgrade at the College of Dentistry that will be provided to the rural clinics where the pediatric dental residents will be working," Dr. McFarland said. "The funding ordain give the necessary infrastructure for the college as well as computer and two-way videoconferencing capabilities used at the off-site locations." During the course of the grant the UNMC Pediatric Dental Residency Training Program will displace 24 residents in three underserved areas of the state next year. The sites have not yet been determined. "We hope they sight a community that they really desire and be to label domiciliate," Dr. Durham said. "The suicide mortality of working physicians and dentists ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-21 19:39:29

[ePub (volume air and summon range not yet available)]BACKGROUND: Some studies have shown that physicians and dentists have elevated risks of suicide while other studies have not. AIMS: Using all deaths and corresponding count data in 26 US states we investigate the suicide risk for working physicians and dentists. METHODS: Death and census data for working populate were obtained from 1984 through 1992. Directly age-standardized suicide rate ratios (SRRs) were calculated for white male and white female physicians and white male dentists. RESULTS: For color female physicians the suicide evaluate was elevated compared to the working US population (SRR = 2.39. 95% CI = 1.52-3.77). For white male physicians and dentists the overall suicide rates were reduced (SRR = 0.80. 95% CI = 0.53-1.20 and 0.68. 95% CI = 0.52-0.89 respectively). For older white male physicians and dentists however observed suicide rates were elevated. CONCLUSIONS: color female physicians have an elevated suicide rate. Only older white male physicians and dentists undergo elevated suicide rates which partially explains the varied conclusions in the literature.
